St. Damien is one of the main hospital sites that FOCUS has started screening and treating premature babies for Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), a blinding condition of babies born too early whose retina then doesn’t develop properly. Our USAID grant will cover a portion of what we hope to accomplish there, but we need your help to upgrade the oxygen delivery systems they have since unmixed high levels of oxygen are now known to cause more aggressive ROP.
